Description

waku waku is a design consultancy and production company for games & experiences based in Zurich, Switzerland. It is our mission make the best games and playful experiences for our customers and to help them achieve that same goal with their own products. We provide end to end service as well taking over only parts of our customers workflows. Because we believe that games and playful experiences are an amazing medium to convey complex complex issues to a wide audience, we also strive to engage in non-profit projects with a focus on community or sustainability.

History

waku waku GmbH was founded in 2016 by Stefan Schmidlin, with the goal to create games and consult customers in their experience development process. It its young history, the company has delivered games for Swiss Radio and Television, Red Bull and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. So far, waku waku has always worked with small teams of freelancers to have the optimal skill-mix for their projects.

Stefan has gathered over 15 years of experience working as a customer experience designer, project manager, developer and researcher. He has worked at Cambridge Technology Partners, Swisscom and Fujitsu Research Laboratories. Before founding waku waku, he was responsible for the creation and development of the Swisscom TV Air apps and web experiences. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Currently, Stefan is also studying towards a 2nd Master Degree in Game Design at Zurich University of the Arts.
